Meet Recap

The Woodridge Bulldogs won the 1st ever PTC Tennis championships in the school’s history today! Having already won the regular season championship with an undefeated league record of 12-0, the Bulldogs were able to clinch both the tournament championship as well as the overall championship by taking 45 out of a possible 50 points. CONGRATULATIONS BOYS!!!!!

Sophomore Tanner Laughorn got the winning started early by dominating the 3rd singles bracket, not losing a single game along the way. Junior Devin O’Laughlin was also able to pick up valuable points for the team by placing second in the 2nd singles flight, only losing out in the championship match by very slim margins. Senior Kyle Ackermann rounded out the singles play with a strong 3rd place finish in the 1st singles bracket, completing his final match in emphatic style.

The 2nd doubles team of seniors Nick LoPrinzi and Gustavo Meireles were able to seal an undefeated league season at the position with an excellent straight set victory over Norton in their championship match, gaining precious points for the team. The win was sealed with what was surely the match of the season at 1st doubles where seniors Vince LoPrinzi and Christopher Mally were victorious in 3 sets against Norton, winning their final set 9-7 in a tiebreak!

Not only were the Bulldogs victorious today, but EVERY SINGLE Woodridge player received All-PTC honors for their achievements (listed below)
