Woodridge High School Athletic Hall of Fame
The Woodridge High School Athletic Hall of Fame was established over 35 years ago to properly recognize the outstanding achievements of Woodridge student athletes. In collaboration with the Woodridge Alumni Association, we are proud to announce that we have now expanded the scope of our Hall of Fame to include our finest coaches and athletic department contributors.
We are asking for our community members to nominate qualified and deserving individuals for this recognition. Below is the criteria for automatic and non-automatic induction for the class of 2018 and beyond. Please note that automatic inductees MUST still be nominated to be inducted. Below is a nomination form which must be fully completed and submitted for all nominees. Supporting documentation may also be submitted by mailing to the Woodridge Athletic Office at 4440 Quick Road, Peninsula OH 44264. Please feel free to provide as much supporting information as possible.
For Students who graduated in 2015 and for the WHS Classes of 2016 and 2017, they will still fall under the previously instituted criteria for induction. The previous criteria was that the student athlete must meet any one of the following (REMINDER: If a student meets one or more of these criteria and is in the WHS class of 2015, 2016 or 2017, there will be no waiting period for induction).
- First Team All-Ohio
- First Team All-League in the same sport for 3 years.
- Member of an OHSAA State All-Star game.
- Akron Beacon Journal Player of the Year
Upon the conclusion of the annual induction ceremony, the selection committee will begin reviewing nominations for the next Hall of Fame class. Inductions will occur at a specified event. Information on the event will be posted on the Woodridge website. The nomination deadline for each class is will also be posted. Although nominations can be submitted at any time, they will only be considered for the year of receipt if submitted after the deadline stated.
