The Woodridge girls cross country team ran a tremendous TEAM race to bring home the school’s second girls’ state championship. The girls finally matched the 1995 squad that won the only other team title in school history.
Natalie Fleming earned All-Ohio honors and let the women across the line. The Bulldog top five were only separated by 13 seconds. Nicole Fleming, Molly Howard, Libby Howard, and Clare Willett rounded out the scoring pack. Sarah Frederick ran a huge personal best and broke the 20-minute barrier for the first time in her young career while Jenna Kaiser rounded out the varsity team.
Natalie, Nicole, Molly, Sarah, and Jenna each earned Academic All-Ohio honors as well. With the boys win, this marks only the 5th time in since the girls’ tournament started over 40 years ago that a school has won both titles in the same year.
The Woodridge Cross Country program would like to thank all those that attended. We had a huge chunk of the 14,000 + spectators cheering for our Bulldogs!
