The 2017 edition of our Woodridge Track & Field program has high hopes. We return a slew of talented student-athletes from last year’s conference championship teams. We also expect a strong group of newcomers to fill in and build on traditional success.
On the girls side, we return five state qualifiers and a few All-Ohioans. Many of our girls earned all conference honors as well. The graduation of Aamirah Howard (Mount Union University) and Caprece Conrad (Lake Erie College) should open up some opportunities among the sprint and hurdle crews. We will also be counting on a younger group of throwers to fill in for our 2016 graduates. The distance team returns a large group of experienced racers.
The boys return three All-Ohioans and could be in many championship conversations in late May and June. Seth Conard (Allegheny College) and Hall of Famer Joe Novak will need to be replaced in their respective training groups. The boys should be balanced and competitive in every event. In addition, this balance brings a great deal of experience to the program.
