The Woodridge Boys Track and Field team traveled to Bedford and defended their 2016 district crown. The Dogs edged out 2nd place CVCA by 1 point to win the district title. Jacob Mally led the way for the Dogs, winning the high jump and both hurdle races. Mally was also a member of the 3rd place 1600 meter relay team to qualify 4 events to the regional. Mally was joined on the relay by Max Starvaggi, Zach Conroy, and Dijon White. Starvaggi was also the 800 meter champion and a member of the regional qualifying 800 meter and 3200 meter relays. Dijon White, King Alfred Sanders, DeAndre Smith, Aaron Richardson, and King Alcardon Sanders qualified to the regional in the 800 meter and 400 meter relays. In the day;s tightest race, Ryan Palm came from behind in the last 10 meters to win the 3200 meter run. Noah Perrin was less than a second behind as he grabbed 3rd place. Perrin and Palm both move on to the the regional next week in Austintown. Yousef Elkurd and Micah Blair took 5th and 8th in the 1600 meter run. Jiah Bowers closed out his Woodridge career with a 6th place finish in the shot put.
