In an effort to showcase the tremendous student athletes we have in our Woodridge community, we have continued our “Student Athlete of the Week” program which highlights one outstanding student athlete from each of our High School Varsity programs throughout the school year. The program is made possible through a partnership with Poiema Photo.
This week’s Student Athlete is Evelyn Willett.
Evelyn is a junior member of the girls cross country program who is excelling in the program now as an upper classmen. Head cross country coach Jeff Howard says of Evelyn: “Evelyn has competed at a high level in cross country and track and field. Most importantly, she brings a positive ‘feel’ to our team. In a sport that requires great sacrifice for primarily individual reward, Evelyn understands the need to be a great team member. She possesses an innate ability to make others smile…this is a true gift!” With their 5th place finish at this past weekend’s Regional Meet, the girls have qualified for the OHSAA State Meet on 11/2 at National Trail Raceway. The girls run at 11:45am. Congratulations Evelyn and to the entire girls cross country team on a very successful season!
