In an effort to showcase the tremendous student athletes we have in our Woodridge community, we have continued our “Student Athlete of the Week” program which highlights one outstanding student athlete from each of our High School Varsity programs throughout the school year. The program is made possible through a partnership with Poiema Photo.
This week’s Student Athlete is Abby Bergdorf. Abby is a junior member of the Woodridge Girls Bowling team. Abby is a two time district qualifier as an individual and has a high game of a 233 and high series of 524 this season. Abby is also involved in girls soccer and softball as well as the marching band at Woodridge High School. Head bowling coach Keith Shovestull says of Abby: “The true definition of what a bulldog student athlete should represent is continuously upheld by Abby. Abby’s intelligence shines just as bright on the lanes as it does in the classroom. Through perseverance, passion, and resilience, Abby proves herself as not only a team player, but a strong leader.” Good luck to Abby at the district tournament on Monday, February 17th and congratulations to the entire girls bowling team on an outstanding 2019-20 season!
