Two 1st half goals propelled the Lady bulldogs Soccer team past the visiting Lions from Orange High School.
First half goals were scored by Junior Anna Schmeltzer assisted by Junior Hailey ilg. The second goal of the game came from a well placed left footed shot over the Lions keeper by Junior Lindsay Kumar.

Minutes later the bulldogs found themselves short handed as a red card was issued. The bulldogs played the remaining 10+ minutes of the first half and all of the second half down a player. The Bulldogs played with the bend not break mentality giving Orange limited opportunities even with the man advantage. The lone goal for the Lions was an own goal from a Woodridge defender. The bulldogs battered and bruised look to next week where they will open up PTC play at Ravenna High School.

Good luck ladies and great win today!

Game Summary

1Q

Padua opens with two scores in the first quarter: a field goal and a long TD pass. It's 10-0, but Woodridge is looking to score with 1st and 10 at the Padua 31 as the 2nd quarter starts.

2Q

After driving far against the penalty ridden Dogs, Padua passes in for a TD with 15 seconds left in the half. After a long KO return, Lydic goes for the endzone, only to be picked off at the 1 yard line. End of half.

3Q

Woodridge finds the endzone in the 3rd quarter after Lydic hits Taylor on a long 4th down pass and Singletary punches it in. Padua, however, puts up 14 in the 3rd quarter themselves. 27-7 as we head into the final quarter.

4Q

Woodridge battles hard in the second half, but two huge TD runs by Paduas Cramer immediately answers and puts Padua out of reach.

Game Recap

The Lady Bulldogs fought hard, but could not capitalize on Raven mistakes and lost the first set 27-25. The second set was much different as the Bulldogs turned up the intensity and outpaced the Ravens 25-14. The momentum shifted back to the Ravens in the third set as they took a 16-7 lead. However, the Bulldogs clawed their way back in and capped off the comeback with a 25-21 win. The final set of the night was the strongest for the bulldogs as they, again, turned up the intensity and pounded the Ravens 25-11. The Bulldogs were led by Mya Lathem with 7 kills, Lili Bowman with 10 ace serves, Kaela Folatko with 16 assists, and Jacierra Arnett with 3 blocks. Capping off the third set comeback and changing the momentum of the set was Brayden Wigal with an all out diving save to bring the ball back into play.
