Game Summary

1Q

It's a beautiful night for our final regular season game. Woodridge takes the kickoff and starts at their own 32.

Woodridge marches down the field, finding much more success in the air than on the ground, and Lydic finds Kelleher from 14 yards out.

Springfield is stopped on their first drive and Woodridge takes over on their own 28. Down the field they go, but stall on a 1st and 10 from the Springfield 10 and miss a FG attempt.

1st quarter ends with Woodridge up only 6-0.

2Q

Woodridge turns over on downs after driving down to the Springfield 28.

It's been a very quiet game thus far, but Woodridge finally breaks the silence 1:39 before the half when Sanders runs it in from the 17. Woodridge over Springfield 13-0.

Springfield stuns the Dogs by going 51 yards on a pass, followed by a 26 yd TD pass. Now 13-7.

3Q

Woodridge scores first in the second half after Springfield fumbles the ball while trying to punt, giving us the ball on the 13. Sanders had the honors of finding the zone.

It's Lydic to Sanders for 60 yards on a screen down to the 6, and then Sanders for his 3rd score of the evening. The 2pt attempt is no good. 36-7 Woodridge, 7:34 in the half.

Singletary comes alive for a 27 yard TD with 4:23 to go.

4Q

Spencer Robinson runs a TD for as many yards as his number, blocking for himself and breaking multiple tackles like a man possessed. Woodridge up 40-7 and we can finally run the clock with 8:10 to go.

Game Recap

The Lady bulldogs found themselves up early on the Minutemen from Revere with a quick goal from by Freshmen Bella Paratore of of a great low cross from freshmen Elise Carey. The bulldogs stood their ground for nearly 60 minutes as Revere kept the pressure on. The Minutemen were able to find the back of the net for their first goal with just about 20 minutes remaining in the 2nd half when there was a mad scramble in front of the goal. The minutemen struck again only minutes later of of a corner kick.

This has been a historical season for the lady bulldogs. They set the best record in school history with a 13-3-2 overall record. The bulldogs posted the most shutouts in program history with 12 and only allowed 10 goals on the season. The bulldogs have much to be proud of in this 2017 season. Congrats to the Seniors who lead this team Goal keeper Abby Kozma, Defenders Julia Mullins and Angela Sperrazza, and Forward Jordyn Colby. Thank you ladies for everything you’ve given this season and the last four years!

Meet Recap

The Woodridge cross country crew ran into a strong Rocky River team at the District Championships on Saturday. The Bulldogs ran well but came up 17 points shorts to finish in the runner up position. Noah Perrin, Micah Blair, and Sam Dutt each earned top-10 finishes while Riley Galehouse and Nedal Elkurd completed the scoring five. Jack Willett and Andrew Lauck both ran nice races to finish up the varsity seven. Ryan Champa continued his surge to health as he won the open race. Zach Conroy and Andy Muha also finished well in the open event.

The boys’ runner up finish has qualified them to compete at the Regional finals in Boardman with a chance to return to the state championships. The top 6 teams next week will get to travel to Hebron, Ohio. The Bulldogs hope to get a chance to defend their 2016 state championship!

Game Recap

Woodridge traveled to Aurora today for a sectional final game and came up a bit short losing 0-1 on a goal scored about 10 minutes into the second half. The Bulldogs played stingy defense against the #3 seeded Greenmen, conceding only 4 shots on goal for the contest. The coaching staff is incredibly proud of the effort the boys put forth today and throughout a season that was faced with many challenges. We’d also like to thank the seniors and wish them all the best in what opportunities come there way.
