At Woodridge, our Student-Athlete Spotlights recognize standout performers from each of our varsity sports every season. These features highlight not only the skill and achievements of our athletes, but also the leadership and dedication they bring to their teams.
This week, we are proud to feature sophomore Carter Maxa, a key contributor for the Woodridge varsity basketball program. Now in his second season, Carter has continued to elevate his game and impact the Bulldogs in a big way.
Carter led the team in rebounding as a freshman and followed that up with an outstanding performance so far this season, averaging 15 points and 9 rebounds to help guide the Bulldogs to an impressive start to the season. His standout performance came on Friday, December 12, against rival Streetsboro, when Carter recorded a massive double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds, highlighted by four powerful dunks.
Coach, Ian Adams says of Carter: "Only a sophomore, Carter has worked tirelessly to improve his game and consistently brings energy, effort, and a team-first mindset to the court. His growth and leadership at a young age have made him a valuable asset to our program."
Carter’s dedication and relentless work ethic exemplify what it means to be a Bulldog — committed, hardworking, and always striving to be better.
Congratulations to Carter on a terrific season so far, and best of luck to the Bulldogs as the season continues!
