The boy’s varsity bowling team finished in second place at the Tri-County Sectional Tournament held at Stonehedge on Sunday. The boys were competing with ten other teams from Summit, Stark and Portage Counties. Only three teams advanced from this tournament and earned the right to move on to the district tournament in Avon next Sunday.
Although the shot was difficult and scoring was lower than normal, Bryce Oliver still led the team with a very impressive 755 series (231, 258 & 266). Other scorers included Aidan Jewell with a 565 series (187, 199 & 179) and Angelo Biondo had a 526 series (155, 184 & 187). Connor Jewell had a 148 and 166, Chad Schoolcraft had a 141 and 165 and Malcolm Nietenbach helped out the team subbing in on several occasions.
During the three team games the team scored a 862, 924 and 931. In the six team baker games, the team had a 1,274 series (195, 224, 201, 180, 265 and 209).
The boys will travel to Nautica Lanes in Avon next Sunday at noon to compete in the OHSAA D2 District Tournament.
