The Woodridge boys track and field team has qualified to the State meet in 5 events, and finished 5th in the team standings at the regional meet.
Zayd Elkurd, Micah Blair, Brayden Whited and Ryan Kiley, started off the regional meet with a first place finish I the 4x800m relay. This is the 11th time in school history that the bulldogs have qualified in the 4×800 to the state meet.
Richard Fisher III threw a lifetime best of 47′-11″ to earn 4th place and move on to compete at the state meet.
Ryan Champa earned his spot at the state meet with his 4th place finish in the 3200m run.
Marvin Montgomery finished 5th in the 400m dash. His time earned him an event to do at large spot at the state meet.
Brayden Whited also earned an at large spot at the state meet with his 5th place effort in the 800m run.
The state championship meet is in Columbus this next Friday and Saturday at the Jesse Owens stadium on the Ohio State University.
