Freshman Izzy Best continued to lead the girls cross country team into the first round of the state tournament. Izzy finished 8th to pace the Bulldogs to a runner up finish behind state-ranked Beaumont High School. Libby Howard continued her late-season surge and joined Jenna Kaiser, Sarah Frederick, and Anastasia Bakuhn in the scoring five. Rosie Sterling and Anna Wojcik completed the varsity seven for Woodridge with solid performances.

The girls’ finish earned them the right to race for a state berth next weekend in Boardman, Ohio.

Leah Stanfield and Leighton Kline ran exceptionally well in the open race.
