The Woodridge girls scored in all 16 events to take top honors in the Portage Trail Conference. Coupled with their 7-0 regular season record, this is the 14th consecutive title for the girls.
In the field events, Catie Meehan and Emma Stekelenburg scored the high jump while Delaney Duve and Leah Stanfield grabbed valuable points in the long jump. Eleanor Sterling grabbed a second place finish in the discus and followed that up with a 4th place shot put finish. Sydnie Rhone and Cher Strain both scored in the throws as well.
Erin Eby had a monster day as she won the 100 hurdles and finished runner up in the 300 hurdle event. Freshman Chloe Rado also scored the 300’s. Izzy Best finished second place in the 100, 200, and 400 behind an All-Ohioan from Ravenna. Elise Carey finished fourth in the same three events!
Libby Howard paced the distance crew with wins in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. She also joined Evelyn Willett by scoring the 800. Anastasia Bakuhn and Rosie Sterling also grabbed big points in these races.
Artesha Calhoun, Sarah Abood, Julia Adams, and Belle Norris joined Howard, Eby, Willett, Bakuhn, and Best with great efforts in the relay events.
The girls will travel to Bedford on Thursday and Saturday for the first round of the OHSAA State Tournament.
