The Woodridge Bulldogs started their post-season competition off with an explosive finish at the Portage Trail Conference Championships. The wet, muddy course played to the strength of the pack as they guys stole 8 of the 10 places in the race.
Micah Blair grabbed the win to earn PTC Runner of the Year honors. This was the third time Micah left the Portage County Fairgrounds with a first team honor. The depth of the Bulldog squad was on display as Ryan Champa, Zayd Elkurd, Sam Dutt, Riley Galeshouse, Nedal Elkurd, and Andrew Lauck each finished in the top 10. Aaron Dutt, Ryan Kiley, and Ryan Lauck also received all conference honors with their top 15 finishes.
Reece Mercer, Brian Fitzsimmons, Conrad Haas, Jeremy Hutchins, Elliott DeFrange, Owen Cook, Peter LeMay, Balin Soful, Augustus Neitenbach, and Victor Torres all dropped significant time from their 2017 race while freshmen Will Holland, Andrew Shaheen, and Jason Thompson ran exceptional races.
The boys are currently ranked 2nd in Ohio and will begin the state tournament next Saturday at Lorain Community College at the District Championships.
